From Fuse to Global Rollout: How Cleardox Became A&O Shearman’s Global Redaction Solution

Copenhagen, Denmark – October 9, 2026

Great Legal Tech Has to Earn the Trust

“It’s one thing that Cleardox’ tool is faster and easier to use. But for me, the most important aspect is security. Cleardox reduces the risk of human error by helping ensure sensitive information isn’t overlooked, whilst also making redactions permanent and irreversible. For a firm like A&O Shearman, where reputational risk is enormous, that’s what really matters.”

‍

Shruti Ajitsaria Fuse Founder & Head of Fuse at A&O Shearman

‍

‍

From a Copenhagen legal tech scale up to a global partnership with one of the world’s largest law firms.

On 14 July 2026, Cleardox officially went live across A&O Shearman.

‍

Lawyers and legal professionals across offices from Singapore toLondon to New York can now use Cleardox Redact to securely anonymise sensitive information before documents are shared internally or externally.

‍

For Cleardox, this wasn’t just another customer win.

‍

It was the culmination of more than a year of collaboration, testing, travelling, pitching and, most importantly, proving that we could solve a genuine problem for one of the most sophisticated law firms in the world.

‍

‍

It all started with Fuse

Fuse is A&O Shearman’s legal technology innovation programme.

‍

Rather than relying solely on traditional procurement processes, FUSE allows lawyers across the firm to test emerging legal technology in real-world scenarios. The goal is simple: put innovative products into the hands of practitioners quickly and let them decide what creates value.

‍

Every year, hundreds of legal tech companies apply.

‍

Only a handful are selected.

‍

After several unsuccessful applications, 2025 became the breakthrough year for Cleardox.

‍

Out of approximately 270 applicants, Cleardox was selected as one of just 10 companies invited to join the programme. During the selection process, several document redaction solutions were evaluated, but Cleardox ultimately earned its place in the cohort.

‍

‍

“Ease of use was one of the reasons”

According to Shruti Ajitsaria, Fuse Founder at A&O Shearman, usability played an important role from the very beginning.

“One thing that stood out, and one of the reasons we chose Cleardox, was its user interface and ease of use.”

‍

For busy legal professionals, technology only creates value if people actually want to use it.

‍

That philosophy would prove itself repeatedly throughout the programme.

‍

‍

Being selected for Fuse does not guarantee becoming an A&O Shearman supplier.

Being selected for Fuse does not guarantee becoming an A&O Shearman supplier.

‍

In fact, only a selection of Fuse participants ultimately become long-term technology partners.

‍

For Cleardox, the real work started after acceptance.

‍

‍

Over the following year, the team:
  • Travelled to London and Belfast multiple times
  • Delivered more than 50 internal presentations across global offices
  • Participated in extensive pitch coaching
  • Demonstrated the platform to lawyers from multiple practice groups around the world

‍

As Cleardox Founder & CEO Oliver Fjellvang explains:

“Being accepted into Fuse opened the door - but it certainly didn’t guarantee anything. Every meeting, every pitch and every product demonstration was another opportunity to prove that we could create value for lawyers around the world.”

‍

‍

From presentations to a global pilot

The growing interest eventually led to something much more significant:

‍

A global pilot.

‍

Potential users from Europe, North America and Asia were invited to test Cleardox using real legal workflows.

‍

One of the largest training initiatives took place in Belfast, where multiple workshops were held with professionals who spend a significant part of their working day redacting sensitive documents.

‍

Participants completed the same redaction exercises using both their traditional workflow and Cleardox.

‍

The difference quickly became apparent.

‍

According to Shruti Ajitsaria, the pilot demonstrated the value of technology that enhances existing workflows rather than disrupting them:

“For legal technology to succeed, it has to fit the way lawyers actually work, not the other way around. Cleardox made the redaction process significantly faster and more efficient, without adding complexity to the workflow.”

‍

‍

‍

The results spoke for themselves

More than 50 legal professionals participated in the evaluation.

‍

‍

The results were remarkably consistent:
  • Around 90% found Cleardox faster than their traditional workflow.
  • Around 85% described the software as easy or very easy to use.
  • Approximately 90% completed all key tasks without assistance.
  • Nearly every participant said they would recommend Cleardox to a colleague.
  • Around 80% believed Cleardox could fully or partially replace their existing redaction process.
  • The average satisfaction score reached 8.3 out of 10.

‍

‍

‍

The Feedback from A&O Shearman’s Lawyers

The feedback from testers highlighted the themes that appeared again and again throughout the pilot.

‍

“Much more quickly than Adobe - autoflow feature speeds up the redaction process significantly.”
“Very intuitive and fast-paced tool which managed to redact 60 pages in around 30 minutes.”
“Collaboration and quality control features are very helpful for large teams.”

‍

Several users also provided constructive feedback around UK postcodes, tables and additional review features, helping shape Cleardox’s product roadmap going forward.

‍

‍

‍

Speed matters. Security matters even more.

When Cleardox and A&O Shearman announced their partnership at Legal Tech Talk in London, the conversation naturally turned to why the firm ultimately chose Cleardox.

‍

For Shruti Ajitsaria, speed alone was never the deciding factor.

‍

That philosophy perfectly reflects why document redaction is such a critical process within professional services.

‍

One missed name.

‍

One visible sentence.

‍

One incomplete redaction.

‍

That’s often all it takes to create a serious reputational incident.

‍

‍

‍

The Cleardox team made the difference

Technology partnerships are rarely based solely on software features.

‍

Throughout the Fuse programme, A&O Shearman also evaluated what it was like working with the Cleardox team.

‍

  • Communication.
  • Support.
  • Responsiveness.
  • Collaboration.
  • Shared values.

‍

As Shruti reflected:

“Fuse allowed us not only to validate Cleardox’ redaction tool, but also the people behind it. We experienced a team that shared many of the values we care deeply about - collaboration, quality and a genuine commitment to helping our lawyers succeed.”

‍

For Oliver, that may be the achievement he is most proud of.

“We’re incredibly proud that A&O Shearman didn’t just choose our technology - they chose to work with our team. Building great software is important, but earning trust is what sets great partnerships apart.”

‍

‍

‍

Looking ahead

The global rollout of Cleardox across A&O Shearman represents far more than a successful implementation.

‍

It demonstrates what can happen when legal professionals and legal technology companies work closely together to solve genuine business challenges.

‍

The journey from scale up to trusted global supplier wasn’t built overnight.

‍

It was built through hundreds of conversations, countless product improvements, extensive user feedback and a shared commitment to making legal work both safer and more efficient.

‍

What started with a place in Fuse has now grown into a global partnership with one of the world’s leading law firms.

‍

This global rollout marks a major milestone for Cleardox - but it is only the beginning of what comes next.
